Lockheed Martin Material & Process Engr Asc in Fort Worth, Texas
This position is for a non-metallic materials engineer working in the Fort Worth Materials and Processes (M&P) Common Services group. Primary program ties will be to the F-35 Program. Job responsibilities will include providing non-metallic materials support to domestic and foreign co-producers, applying knowledge of adhesives, sealants, polymers and structure assembly requirements, reviewing engineering Build To Packages (BTP), supporting assembly production operations, creating and maintaining entries for M&P databases, evaluating new materials for production use, creating and maintaining non-metallic material and process specifications, interfacing with material manufacturers, and developing and overseeing of test plans. In addition, the applicant will be responsible for determining releaseability of technical documents and specifications.
Must possess or be able to obtain a US passport, and be willing to travel both within and outside of the US.
Basic Qualifications -Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
-BS in Materials Science or Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited college. This is considered an entry level position.
Desired skills Experience working in Materials and Processes Engineering on Aeronautics Programs is a plus.
Experience with issues related to inserting new technologies into production programs is a plus.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to work with and communicate with other Engineering disciplines.
Ability to work individually and/or collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects.
