Propulsion Systems Analysis Engineer

Propulsion Systems Analysis Engineering opportunities are available on the V-22 and V-280 Programs. These positions may be located at Bell Helicopter’s headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX or the Bell Flight Research Center in Arlington, TX. The Propulsion Systems Analysis Engineer is responsible for evaluating the propulsion system component performance required to meet program and customer defined requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Engine installation and integration

  • Installed engine performance and coordination with other teams such as flight technologies

  • Support of engine and propulsion system flight test activities

  • Familiarity with engine inlet and exhaust designs and their impacts on air vehicle performance across the required flight conditions.

  • Familiarity with sub-system component and air vehicle level thermal analyses to meet systems level requirements.

  • Work closely with IPTs to review evolving designs and provide input into their decisions.

  • Perform system level and aircraft level analysis to validate performance requirements.


Education Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree is required. Major in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics will be considered.

Position Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in integrating and /or analyzing propulsion systems is preferred.

  • Experienced with management and technical oversight of an engine supplier.

  • Familiarity with CFD analyses on turbo-machinery using FLUENT, or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with thermal analysis using SINDA, or equivalent.

  • Experience with installed engine performance.

  • Employment experience with an engine manufacturer is preferred..

  • Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams.

  • Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes to include; requirements development and verification, preliminary and detailed design, MRP, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement and Maintenance processes is preferred.

  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
