Job Description SummaryResponsible for conducting and documenting the more complex audit projects, special investigations and consulting projects related to business administered by external parties (Third Party Administrators, TPAs) independently such as developing, implementing and ensuring compliance with procedures and policies that protect the assets of the organization. Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and customer confidentiality.
Complete the planning process and develop an overall audit approach timely. This includes development of a risk assessment, audit program and design of detailed audit testing, which identifies and analyzes all significant areas of control risk.
Ensure all audit program steps are addressed; and, document audit testing clearly and concisely.
Prepare quality audit reports and issue timely.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers which include management and personnel of the external, independent parties and TPA account management.
Supervise one or more auditors on individual projects, assigning challenging tasks within their ability, and ensuring they receive appropriate coaching and mentoring on the techniques and procedures involved in auditing. Manage multiple auditors, projects and/or tasks.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of external, independent party relationships, internal control concepts and techniques and key computer applications.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related area.
Five or more years of audit or related business experience.
Computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the PC/LAN/Internet environment.
Effective verbal and written communications, analytical problem solving, organization and planning, assertiveness, team building, tolerance of ambiguity, commitment to task, leadership and presentation skills.
Ability to handle confidential information and exercise discretion.
Ability to travel approximately of 25% of the time.
Ability to work more than 40 hours per week and outside normal business hours, as needed, due to project deliverables.
Graduate degree or professional certification of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a related certification(s).
Technical auditing and/or accounting skills required with experience auditing external parties (TPAs).
One or more years of prior management/supervisory/lead experience.
Behavioral & Leadership
Capable of communicating effectively with internal staff, management staff, operating department staff and management as well as external contacts.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Works with minimum supervision, conferring with manager on unusual matters.
