The candidate must have practical experience and working knowledge of quality assurance concepts and inspection methods and techniques. This position requires the ability to read and accurately interpret customer engineering drawings, electronic model based definitions and specifications and to apply that interpretation to the manufacture/fabrication and inspection of production parts and hardware. The position requires familiarity with IGES/STEP electronic model translation, Spatial Analyzer, and PC-DMIS 2014 or higher, also a strong working knowledge of CATIA V5. The candidate must have 5 years or more previous experience in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and operational use. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years previous inspection or manufacturing experience in Aerospace, Automotive or other related industry.
The candidate is expected to participate in a multi-functional team, prepare action plans to solve manufacturing issues, and meet required objectives and goals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Understand, adhere, and demonstrate to the company’s commitment to QUALITY and SAFETY!
Using IGES/STEP/CATIA electronic datasets, generate CMM program inspection routines as required
Build CAT product within CATIA for CMM fixturing
Create inspection media for (MBD) engineering requirements, CATIA Drawings CMM programs etc…
Use Engineering drawings, specifications, etc. for reference, CMM inspect detailed machined/bond parts and/or assemblies for conformity to design parameters. Indicate acceptance or rejection on production documentation.
Support system enhancements and process improvements, provide technical support and training to all our internal customers.
Validate CATIA 3D designs for internal use
Maintain a working knowledge of quality assurance procedure requirements as they apply to inspection and manufacturing operations.
Ensure that tools used as media of acceptance remain calibrated according to internal and/or customer requirements.
Support Inspection calibration process as required.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience.
CATIA V5 preferred
CMM programming / operation experience working in an aerospace (or similar) machining environment with PC-DMIS for CMM with indexing heads and Laser Tracker’s
Experience in machining shop with various aluminum alloys, steel, titanium and bonded parts is strongly desired.
Knowledge of measurements of different types of materials with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Knowledge of standard shop safety practices.
