Accountemps is searching for a Staff Accountant. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you'll have responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Richardson, Texas based firm has a long term temporary-to-fulltime position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every single day

• Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

• Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

• Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

• Maintain monthly payment schedules

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

• Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

• Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

• Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

• Current and relevant ERP system experience

• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Recent and relevant accounting experience

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

• Accounts payable experience

• Fixed assets experience preferred

• Strong familiarity with accounts receivable

• Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Ability to meet deadlines
